Fleetwood Mac Lineup For 2018 Tour
Posted : admin On 21.01.2019Legendary rockers Fleetwood Mac will be saying goodbye to fans later this year for their final tour together as a band. The 52-city farewell tour kicks off October 3rd in Tulsa and extends well into 2019 visiting U.S. Markets like Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington DC, New York and Philadelphia. “Fleetwood Mac has always been about an amazing collection of songs that are performed with a unique blend of talents,' Mick Fleetwood said in a statement announcing the tour. The legendary band is announcing a new tour today that kicks off in October. 'This is the new lineup of Fleetwood Mac.' 2018 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year winners.
'We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realize that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.' The group will also launch The Fleetwood Mac channel on SiriusXM on May 1 at 5 p.m.
“We were supposed to go into rehearsal in June and he wanted to put it off until November [2019],” Stevie Nicks said. “That’s a long time. I just did 70 shows [on a solo tour]. As soon as I finish one thing, I dive back into another. Why would we stop?
They brought the house down with 'Go Your Own Way' before the first encore. What an arsenal of songs they throw at you. Just an amazing show!' In 1977 when I was 18 years old, one of my singing idols was Stevie Nicks and the band Fleetwood Mac. Singing was and is a passion of mine. I joined a rock n' roll band and sang for many years.
Dia Dipasupil / Getty Images 'It became just a huge impasse and hit a brick wall, where we decided that we had to part company,' Fleetwood said. 'Was Lindsey effectively fired?'
There’s clearly some deal between the Christine, Stevie Nicks and Lyndsey Buckingham that they all have an equal quota of their own songs to get through and in the main that works albeit the latter two can slightly cross the line into self-indulgence. The set hasn’t changed over the ninety odd shows in this tour and draws heavily from Fleetwood Mac and Rumours. All the hits are there, the vocals are spot on especially Christine’s who I think I have been guilty of under estimating in the past. The same is true of Lyndsey Buckingham’s guitar playing; often understated he can rock out with the very best with a unique open strumming style that I’ve not seen before. The highlight for me is the three song acoustic segment which starts with just Lyndsey singing an emotional ‘Big Love’ (slightly spoilt by some existential monologue preamble) and then joined by Stevie for a spine tingling ‘Landslide’ which brought the lump to throat, hairs on end and tears in eye moment. It’s a slick two and a half hour show and forty years later they still have it. Unnecessary Mick Fleetwood drum solo and a low key although perfectly delivered final encore of ‘Songbird’ aside it was the perfect show.
On replacing Buckingham, Consequence of Sound said. The addition of Finn and Campbell only stresses the impossibility of replacing Buckingham, seeing how it took two musicians to swap out one. Granted, Finn gets the job done (especially on the harmonies for hits like “The Chain” or “Go Your Own Way”), and you even get to hear him duet his band’s biggest hit (“Don’t Dream It’s Over”) with [Stevie] Nicks, but it’s impossible to buy any of the band’s theatricality, which has always been one of their on-stage trademarks.' Still, when highlighting time-tested performances from Nicks, Mick Fleetwood or Christine McVie, it's the latter that Consequence of Sound said stole the show. '.not only does she lead the group’s more accentuated hits. But she also oozes with character, opting to go off-script in ways that felt incredibly natural and jamming out like the biggest fan in the room.' Kevin Winter, Getty Images for iHeartMedia/Special to the Register Ultimate Classic Rock attended the group's tour debut in Tulsa, outlining set list highlights and rarities the group baked into its 24-song setlist.

And for a few years, Fleetwood Mac was uncharacteristically tame. This is a band that, from the beginning, has been at each other's throats. There have been feuds, breakups, and, amazingly, some of the most iconic adult-contemporary albums of the last half century. 'As you may know,' Buckingham told me at the time, 'Fleetwood Mac’s politics are always a mess.” Indeed they are. Now, after making it work for a few years, Fleetwood Mac's politics are once again a mess. In April, after 'a disagreement over the band's upcoming tour.'

It was the band's last performance in late January when they were honored at the MusiCares benefit on Grammy weekend. All five members of the classic lineup appeared together. But tensions were building, Fleetwood said, because Buckingham would not sign off on a new tour they'd been planning for a year and a half.
' Reviewing opening night, the Tulsa World lauded the band's energy. 'A big change happened in the ranks of Fleetwood Mac. But here's the takeaway: The tour launch didn’t feel like you were watching/hearing something less than Fleetwood Mac.'

Fleetwood Mac Information About Concert 2019 Fleetwood Mac have revealed dates for an expansive 52-date North American tour set to kick off in October and run through early August. As previously reported, the tour will see Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks joined on stage by Mike Campbell, the longtime lead guitarist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and Crowded House frontman Neil Finn, who were recruited to replace Lindsey Buckingham. To replace Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac has enlisted former Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and Crowded House frontman Neil Finn for their 52-date tour starting October 3 in Tulsa and finishing up in Philadelphia in April 2019. Fleetwood Mac's latest tour will feature songs from the entire Fleetwood Mac catalogue - something Nicks says the band wasn't able to do 'since 1975 because certain people in the band weren't interested in doing that.' The site highlighted a handful of rarities from the tour's opening night, including 1970's 'Tell Me All The Things You Do,' which Ultimate Classic Rock said hasn't been performed in decades. Please raise your hand if you'd crossed your fingers for 'Tell Me All the Things You Do,' the sweltering blues-rock gem from 1970's Kiln House. They'd played this one only a handful of times in the early '70s — most recently a brief run in 1977.' Kevin Winter, Getty Images for iHeartMedia/Special to the Register JamBase noted that the group departed briefly from Fleetwood Mac canon during the set, giving nod to Campbell's time with the Heartbreaks and Finn's Crowded House work. '. Finn not only led Fleetwood Mac through the beloved Crowded House favorite 'Don’t Dream It’s Over' but also threw back to his Split Enz days by fronting a performance of 'I Got You.'

A swift exit and we’re home by midnight. Fleetwood Mac were a little before my time. Having formed in 1967 as a British blues band, Mick Fleetwood had already seen the complete transformation of personal and sound by the time I was born. In fact, up until recently, I thought the Buckingham-Nicks line-up represented the original Fleetwood Mac. As it turns out, Rumours was actually their eleventh albumand it beat me into this world by exactly four days. That was an amazing time for Fleetwood Mac as a band, but it was also a tumultuous time for its members.
While that departure has riled up fans looking to place blame, what matters as the band embarks upon a North American tour is that Mick Fleetwood made perfect picks to replace him. (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images for iHeartMedia) As Tom Petty’s erstwhile sideman through projects like Mudcrutch and The Heartbreakers since 1971, Mike Campbell became one of rock’s most underrated guitar players. Always able to make a song better, Campbell rarely looks to steal the spotlight with a flashy solo (though, as he showed on stage last night in Chicago, he’s more than capable of doing that too).
“Words like ‘fired’ are ugly references as far as I’m concerned. Not to hedge around, but we arrived at the impasse of hitting a brick wall,” Fleetwod explained. “This was not a happy situation for us in terms of the logistics of a functioning band. To that purpose, we made a decision that we could not go on with him.

New Zealand born singer and songwriter Neil Finn fronted rockers Split Enz in the late 70s and early 80s before moving on to even greater success as the voice of new wave rockers Crowded House in 1985. “Welcome, Chicago!” said Stevie Nicks to open the show. “Here we are for our second show in one of my very favorite cities!” Fleetwood Mac performed as a twelve-piece act Saturday night in Chicago with Mick Fleetwood, John and Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, Mike Campbell and Neil Finn augmented by additional guitar and keyboard players, a second percussionist and three background vocalists.
We had a blast. We will never forget that night and were thrilled to have seen, in our opinion, one of the best bands there is. I saw Fleetwood Mac last night in Auburn Hills. The show was better than I expected.
'We sat around a table and we just started listening to everybody we could think of,' Nicks said. 'Anywhere between, you know, 27 and 65. It was like -- it was crazy!'

'I just made it,' Finn joked. Finn, who turns 60 next month, was in his hometown, Auckland, New Zealand, when he got the call. 'I just had this kind of big grin on my face 'cause it's a call you never expect to get,' Finn said. They all met up at a theater in Maui on March 21. Nicks said they played together for two days.
Mike Campbell, on the other hand, seemed perfectly content to hide in the shadows despite the stature and quality of his lead guitar playing. (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images for iHeartMedia) “Many, many years ago I heard this song and it opened a lot of doors in my own heart,” said Mick Fleetwood, introducing an acoustic cover of Crowded House’s biggest hit “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” “It’s unbelievably fitting,” he continued referencing Finn’s new place in the band as Stevie Nicks joined him on vocals, singing one verse of the 1986 hit. The group went out of its way to introduce their new members, putting a Fleetwood Mac spin on “I Got You” by Split Enz early and the Tom Petty classic “Free Fallin” later. Nicks once again took on the vocal of her longtime friend and collaborator and Campbell’s familiar strumming of the Rickenbacker on it was a comforting reminder of his past. “During this set, we’re going to pay respect to our history,” said Nicks Saturday on stage at Chicago’s United Center.
Mic shows his authority on who’s calling the shots in his and John’s successful business. They deserve the utmost respect. They knew one talented performer in skinny jeans was never the soul of their art. We hope for their continued good health to keep on pleasing fans, present and future.
Fleetwood Mac. A bit of trepidation tonight. Have we got decent seats in the vast dome that is the O2, are the Mac on song, swallowed their many and varied differences and will we get back to Waterloo for the last train. Not to spoil the tension but it’s a yes, yes and thrice yes. Me and my wife, sounds weird to say that again, venture off down the Jubilee line with all the other middle aged ex rockers to see the hottest ticket in town.
The group’s stage on this tour is very simple, free of the technological trappings that accompany most arena rock shows, with the group performing in front of a single video screen. From their 1977 classic Rumours, “The Chain” opened Saturday night’s show. As has generally been the case on recent Fleetwood Mac tours, their biggest album received the most focus, with seven tracks from it in the setlist so far on this tour. That performance put the spotlight on Neil Finn early, who nailed his solo on the track. He’d go on to provide stellar vocals and guitar throughout the evening.
And I'm gonna throw myself into all these projects because you just never know.' Nicks, Campbell and Petty go way back. They co-wrote her first solo hit, 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around.'
They played for close to 2 & 1/2 hours. I originally had some concern as to how their voices would be after all these years, but they sounded great.
They are who they are in their own right,' drummer Mick Fleetwood said. With them, Fleetwood said, Fleetwood Mac has been reborn.
'Well, we don't use that word because I think it's ugly. And it's not a question that Lindsey has huge amounts of respect and kudos to what he's done within the ranks of Fleetwood Mac and always will,' Fleetwood said. 'But it's like a marriage that came to an end and there are reasons why. But as a band we needed to move on and we have and that's --' 'Because people who saw you in New York would've thought everything was OK. But it wasn't?'
