Editor’s note: For those using older versions of OS X, we sometimes include system requirements for versions earlier than the one reviewed. Of the nine browser versions reviewed here, only four can run on – but that includes some of the best ones. Anyone still using Mac OS X 10.2 can’t run current versions of any of these browsers. These are the browsers I choose: • Mozilla Browsers • • WebKit Browsers • • • • • • So let’s get started. Opera 9.52 has come a long way in the past year, but it is still way behind its competitors.

Stercus stercus stercus moriturus sum. Microsoft has spent seven years proving conclusively that these kinds of zones are an unworkable approach to security. A web browser has to operate in a mandatory access control environment, and that means that rights once given up must nev. Since the anonymous comment hasn't been modded up yet.

In Apple's history, having buggy systems never has contributed to people buying 'fixed' system updates. Quite the contrary, system 7.5 and 7.5 probably lost apple more market share than any thing else in their history. Apple is in a fragile enough place without purposely sending out bad software under the impression they will encourage software sales.

Credit to David Remahl for reporting this issue. 'local domain' sounds a lot like Microsoft's 'local security zone'. I had assumed that Apple would be smarte. I discovered this vulnerability, and i can confirm that Apple is indeed starting to think in zone separation paths.

Specifically, any configuration on the trunk that has this line: ac_add_app_options --with-macos-sdk=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.2.8.sdk should be changed to this, if the build host is running Panther: ac_add_app_options --with-macos-sdk=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.3.0.sdk or this, if running Tiger (although I don't think we've got any non-universal Tiger build machines): ac_add_app_options --with-macos-sdk=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.3.9.sdk Mark. Apple does not distribute any SUID/SGID scripts, but the system would allow them to be installed or created. This update removes the ability of Mac OS X to run SUID/SGID scripts. Credit to Bruce Murphy of rattus.net and Justin Walker for reporting this issue.

Some developers have been operating on this assumption for a while, and it may already be that trunk builds don't work properly on Jaguar. Specifically, we need to obsolete 10.2 in order to accommodate the new gfx layer and the cocoa widget toolkit. Builds that currently use the 10.2.8 SDK need to have their mozconfigs updated to point to a 10.3 SDK. On build machines running 10.3, this SDK is named MacOSX10.3.0.sdk.

Advice much appreciated. Phil, London. Click to expand.Yeah generally I'd agree, and generally I'd have stuck at 10.3 on these older machines, but to keep secure online you need to keep up to date. On the plus side as Apple hardware is more controlled, they know that a 500mhz performs as a 500mhz, and isn't crippled by poor motherboards etc etc, so when the system requirements are set, it generally means a machine will be OK. On the iBook I'd say it's going to be a plodder, my iMacs a plodder, but its ok, it isn't frustratingly slow otherwise it wouldn't be used.

Windows has it, but it's much more widely support in Mac apps, again because of the rich frameworks. Mac OS 9 had that windowshading for all windows, some miss it so there are extensions for OS X that do that. Add proxy email on outlook for mac I just finished reinstalling Windows because it had eaten its little brain.

Hi Michael, As limnos has suggested what you have posted about your System and computer model are too vague to give you concrete suggestions so you might want to post back with more info of the model Mac you are referring to etc. One thing that I wanted to suggest is that to be sure that the versions of the software you are trying to download/install are compatible with 10.3 version you are using. The latest Firefox browser I believe will not work with 10.3 so double check the system requirements on the Firefox download and find the appropriate one for 10.3. Post back with further questions or comments, littleshoulders 🙂. Apple Footer • This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only.

• Improved robustness of code used to access the Keychain. • Command-period will now close the Find toolbar on Mac OS X 10.5. About Camino 1.6 Like Camino 1.5, this release displays web pages with Gecko 1.8.1, the same rendering engine used by the popular Firefox 2 web browser, and thus shares many of the security fixes and Gecko improvements that are in that version of Firefox. The features listed below are just some of the many changes in Camino 1.6. Due to changes in the feature set, Camino 1.6 requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher. We advise users still running Mac OS X 10.3.0-10.3.8 to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.3.9.

Previous devices are supported by older releases. Note that the first generation of Intel-based Macs equipped with Core Solo or Core Duo processors is no longer supported.
